Tim Mitchell is the Solicitor Director of Bay Legal. He was admitted in 1995 and enjoys practising law in a boutique commercial and general practice.
Tim worked in first tier law firms in the 1990s primarily in commercial transactions and infrastructure projects. Since establishing Bay Legal in 2005 he has continued to develop his practice in assisting personal clients and small to medium businesses in general commercial transactions, civil litigation, property, leasing, intellectual property and all forms of Court and administrative appeal representation. He also has considerable experience in criminal defence and employment matters and has been involved with the determination of numerous contested estate matters including Family Provision and disputed Wills matters in the Supreme Court of NSW.
Tim is a currently practising Notary Public and able to assist clients with international transactions in that capacity.
Prior to practising law, Tim gained a breadth of experience working in various political advisory roles and industrial relations. In 1989, Tim co-founded the Australia Asia Young Leaders Program Inc. He is currently the President of the M Club, Maroubra Bay.
For extracurricular activities, Tim enjoys being with his family, camping, reading and listening to history and philosophy.
More about Codie
After completing her Bachelors of Law and Economics at the University of New South Wales in 2011, Codie was admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in April 2012. She started working as a solicitor at Bay Legal from July 2012.
The main areas of law that Codie practises in are estate planning, succession and deceased estates. She travels to hospitals, retirement villages and nursing homes to look after clients with estate planning needs. She considers it a privilege to be able to help elderly clients in need of care and grieving families who have lost their loved ones to solve their problems efficiently and minimise their stress during these difficult times.
Codie is also experienced in sales/purchases of businesses, contracts and deeds, debt recovery and general civil litigation.
Codie has been living in Australia for 12 years (and counting!). She is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien. She can understand the Teow Chew dialect and the language of Malay/Indonesian.
When she is not at work, Codie loves to play squash and go to Zumba classes. Every now and then she enjoys a glass of wine or whiskey for sanity.
More about Thao
Thao has been admitted as a lawyer for five years practising in Family Law, Personal Injury Law and Workers Compensation, in New South Wales and Victoria. She also has experience in estate planning, property law, and commercial law.
Thao is an Approved Legal Services Provider with the Independent Legal Assistance and Review Service.
Having seen the impact of difficulties in families from a young age, Thao is passionate about empowering those going through complex and emotionally fraught legal proceedings by delivering the best possible service to her clients with respect, empathy and compassion.
Out of the office, Thao enjoys cheerleading, baking and learning about astro and quantum physics and ancient Egyptian history.

Before joining Bay Legal as a Paralegal and now as a Solicitor, Penny was employed by a major Australian bank for 10 years. Penny’s banking career included various roles in lending, funds management and government and regulatory affairs. Penny also holds a Bachelor of Economics and is currently studying a Masters of Law at the University of Sydney.
More about Megan
Megan joined Bay Legal in January 2017 and is the newest member of our team!
She has been working in the role of legal secretary for the most part of 8 years. She previously worked alongside solicitors in conveyancing, family law and estates, and has recognised credentials from the Law Society of New South Wales for support staff.
Megan works as our office manager and assist our solicitors in property conveyancing.
Megan loves to travel, whether it’s a short road trip or crossing oceans, as well as exploring foods and wines.
More about Inggrid
Inggrid is a BAS Registered Agent and has over ten years experience as a bookkeeper. She also worked for many years in commercial enterprises in Indonesia prior to emigrating to Australia in 2000.
